Our Lady of Fatima
The Virgin of Fatima, formally known as Our Lady of Fatima, is an invocation with which the Virgin Mary is venerated in Catholicism.
Every May 13, the Church remembers one more year of the first of the apparitions of the Virgin of Fatima to the three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, which took place in Cova da Iria, Portugal, in 1917.
Mary appeared six times to the three little shepherds in 1917. On May 13, 1917, the three children, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary who told them, among other things, that she would return every 13th day at the same time for the next six months.
On October 13, 1917, before thousands of pilgrims who came to Fatima (Portugal), the so-called “Miracle of the Sun” took place, in which, after the last apparition of the Virgin Mary to the little shepherds Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia, the sun could be seen trembling, in a kind of “dance”, according to those who were there.
