Description

Saint Patrick

Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland, who is credited with bringing Christianity. Saint Patrick was born in Scotland in 387 in Kilpatrick, Scotland.

His real name was Maewyn Succat. When he was 16 years old, Irish pirates took him prisoner and sold him into slavery.

Thanks to his years in Ireland he learned to speak the Celtic language and knew its symbols. After six years as a slave he escaped and came to France to become a priest.

This saint used simple language when evangelizing. For, to explain to them about the Holy Trinity, he presented them with the leaf of the three-leaf clover, telling them that just as these three little leaves form one true leaf, so the three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, form one true God.
